History

All about Lombard Medical Centre

This is a long established Practice, started by Dr Hugh Hine just after the turn of the century, in around 1904. He practiced originally at a surgery in Cartergate and was superseded by two of his sons, Dr Denys Hine and Dr Geoffrey Hine. The practice has expanded from there with additional partners being taken on to accommodate the growing need for health care services. The Practice moved from The Ivies, Cartergate to Lombard Street Surgeries in 1964 and In October 2011 the Practice moved to our current premises on Portland Street.

Conveniently situated near the St. Marks and London Road car parks and on most major bus routes, the Lombard Medical Centre have been purpose built to provide a light, comfortable and welcoming environment. There is access for wheelchairs and a nappy changing area. You will find the staff here friendly, helpful and committed to looking after your personal health needs.

Lombard Medical Centre currently serves a registered population of approximately 18,900 patients. We currently have 10 partners, 1 salaried GP and several GP Registrars working here at the practice. We consider ourselves to be a leading edge and progressive practice seeking to achieve high standards of patient care and we aim to give you a high quality of service that is sensitive to your needs.
