Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Nursing Associates

Nursing associates are members of the nursing team who are able to perform more complex tasks than a healthcare assistant but not the same scope as a registered nurse.


Healthcare Assistants

The practice employs several healthcare assistants. They assist the nursing team by undertaking simple procedures e.g. blood pressure checks, ECGs and blood tests.

Debbie Swain

Practice Director

Debbie deals with the day to day organisation of the practice and is responsible for all non-clinical activity as well as finance and health & safety. The Practice Director supports the GPs and other medical professionals in helping to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Sarah is s responsible for the computer systems and the administration staff.

Administration

We have a dedicated team of secretarial and administration staff who deal with correspondence, data input and management of patients’ records. Care Navigators Care Navigators (formerly Receptionists) provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries.

They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Care Navigators make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries.

John P Reynolds

John is responsible for the repeat prescribing system and is available to answer patients’ queries on medication. He will also carry out your medication review on request. To make an appointment with John, please ask at main reception.

Prescribing Assistants

Prescribing assistants support the practices Clinical Pharmacists to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat and acute prescribing.
